Vintage posters for classic British horror, sci-fi, thriller, and fantasy films are expected to sell for thousands at an auction that’s currently happening on the Ewbank’s website. The posters include titles from Amicus Productions, Hammer Films, and other noteworthy British filmmaking institutions.
The Peter Cushing-starring Amicus Productions release Dr. Who and the Daleks is one of many eye-catching film posters that’s up for grabs. The art is expected to fetch between £2000 and £4000 when it’s all said and done, making it one of the auction’s most sought-after items.
Meanwhile, a poster for the sequel, Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD, is currently in the midst of a bidding war. Needless to say, Whovians better be quick if they expect to add these pieces of memorabilia from the Amicus era of the great Time Lord’s adventures to their collections.
What’s more, posters for Legend of the Werewolf and The Flesh and the Fiends are also available. Fans can also pick up a double sheet of The Mummy’s Shroud and Frankenstein Created Woman, with bidding starting at £340.
The auction also includes a poster for Amicus’ portmanteau classic Tales from the Crypt, which requires a minimum offer of £35. However, fans of Hammer deep-cuts might be intrigued to learn that they can acquire the poster art for the 1964 chiller Nightmare, which is one of the studio’s most underrated efforts.
The list goes on, and with 35 pages of glorious art to scroll through, the options are plentiful. Interested parties can visit the Ewbank’s website to peruse the options and add some macabre art to their collections.
